Community Supported Agriculture, or CSA, is a system of farming that brings farmers, community members, and `aina (lit. land “that which feeds”) together into a mutually beneficial relationship. Community members’ purchase a “farm share”, which entitles them to a share of the harvest throughout the season, delivered by a farmer they know and trust. This commitment implies a willingness to share the bounty of the land, as well as some of the risks and pleasures of production.
Our CSA offers fresh, local, USDA-certified organic produce straight from our farm to the community. CSA boxes are offered to shareholders weekly or every other week, for 8-delivery commitments. Members receive a wide variety of fresh and nutritious fruit and vegetables, grown organically on our farm and delivered to a convenient pick-up site. CSA members have the joy of knowing where, when, and how their food is being produced and become connected with and participate in a growing local food systems. By joining our CSA program you're making a commitment to work with MA’O to achieve our mission -- to empower young people to become leaders and to make our island home a more food secure place to live. In the long run you’ll be “co-producing” with us to create a sustainable Hawai`i.
