Summer Ramp up (SRU)/ Winter Ramp up (WRU)
Our 2 month long ramp-up programs help students refine their love, respect, and willingness to work in preparation to become full-time students and YLT. During transitions between semesters (Summer break or Winter break), SRU and WRU interns will practice farming alongside the Youth Leadership Training Interns and learn MAʻO ways of knowing, being, and doing.

Eligibility
High school diploma or GED
Hardworking and motivated
Between 17 to 25 years old (with exceptions)
Enrolling at LLC Waiʻanae Moku or Puʻuloa campus

In preparation for the YLT, SRU and WRU interns will receive all benefits except tuition until they are enrolled as a YLT* and full-time student.

Summer Ramp Up
Ready to commit to the full program schedule from June 1, 2024 - August 16, 2024
YOUTH LEADERSHIP TRAINING (YLT) PROGRAM
The YLT program is a two-year internship for college students who work part-time on the farm while attending college full-time. This program can be extended for a fifth semester.
Eligibility
Must be part of our Summer Ramp-up (SRU) or Winter Ramp-up (WRU)
Enrolling/enrolled at UH Leeward Community College or UH West Oʻ ahu
Between 17-25 years old* (with exceptions)
Hard worker & motivated to go to college to pursue any career of interest
Benefits
FULL tuition coverage at Leeward Community College or partial coverage at University of Hawaiʻ i West Oʻ ahu (additional scholarships also available to UHWO students)
Monthly stipend starting at $575 and increasing commensurate with greater experience and responsibilities
